Vanity Fair's Official 2010 Oscar After-Party

After the show, it’s the after party… Vanity Fair held their annual Oscar party in Hollywood and anyone who’s anyone came out to celebrate with the winners:

Jennifer Lopez and her hubster Marc Anthony of course hit the after party, and J. Lo switched it up to a black fitted gown with feather sleeve detail. Loving this look on her!

Oscar winner Sandra Bullock hit the red carpet with her husband Jesse James showing off her statue. It’s about time she got noticed for her work!

Cameron Diaz switched it up to a shorter, more sophisticated and mature look in this one shoulder glittering number. It’s a good look for her.

Jennifer Hudson came out in a simple flowing gown, in what seemed to be the color of the night- blue. Love this shade of blue, especially on her!

Father/daughter duo Zoe & Lenny Kravitz stuck together for the after party. Loving this duo, true rockstars!

Amber Rose’s relevancy is getting higher and higher every day! She came out to the exclusive A-list event and walked the carpet in this purple satin Origami bust gown. I love how she can go from sex symbol, to tomboy chic, to red-carpet glamazon!

Forest Whitaker hit the carpet with his gorgeous wife Keisha Whitaker. LOVING this look on Keisha! Stunning.

What Not To Do: Fanny Packs

Posted by Tara Decoda on Nov 19, 2009 in Candids, Celebs, What Not To Do

It’s never okay to wear a fanny pack. Ever. No. I don’t care who you are.

Rihanna was spotted leaving her London hotel yesterday, after a long night of celebrating her Nokia concert the previous night, rocking an H&M knitted dress with puff shoulders, boots, rose gold linked chain, and a Louis Vuitton fanny pack. This isn’t okay, people. Not if you’re Rihanna, and not if it’s Louis Vuitton.

As always with my “What Not To Do’s”, I offer up to 5 solutions. I understand the freedom a fanny pack gives you, you can store your most prized and necessary belongings without having to actually hold a bag in your hand or on your arm all day. So if you are simply looking for that freedom, I have found some solutions for you. A fanny pack though? C’mon son!

The perfect solution to the freedom giving fanny pack, is the shoulder bag. You can either rock it by simply throwing it on your shoulder, or you can throw it across your body:

66th Annual Golden Globes- Arrivals

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jan 14, 2009 in Award Shows, Celebs, Designers, Red Carpet Style

The 2009 Golden Globes went down on Sunday, and of course it was less about who will win what and more of who wore what. So shall we?

Ms. Bey Sting looked fabulous as all hell in an Elie Saab Haute Couture gown and finished off her look with her favorite jeweler Lorraine Schwartz. HIT… right out the park

Blake Lively left question marks in my head with this Nina Ricci number. I thought the dress was ill fitted (Blake has an amazing body!), and the large sequin detailing in the dress made the Fred Leighton jewels over whelming. MISS

Jennifer Lopez rocked a draped Marchesa dress, which was one of the only Marchesa dresses on the red carpet being that she took all of them and only allowed Miley Cyrus to wear one. This dress is very reminiscent of that much talked about green Versace dress she wore to the Grammy’s several years back, only this time she’s married with twins and a lot more curvier. Loves it! HIT

Eva Mendes rocked a statement making Dior dress and a turquoise Van Cleef & Arpels necklace to add a pop of color, and finished off the look with a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. HIT

Teen Choice Awards 2008

Posted by Tara Decoda on Aug 5, 2008 in Award Shows, Celebs, HIT or MISS, Movies & Hollywood, Red Carpet Style

All of Hollywood’s teen stars [and the older ones too] came out to celebrate the Teen Choice Awards. And as usual, there were several HITS & MISSES, but I’ll let you be the judge of that:

‘Gossip Girl’ star Blake Lively was a HIT as usual. Love the look.

My giirrll JoJo came out looking pretty in pink. She has a nice body as well, work it out then JoJo. Love the dress, the fit and the color. HIT

Tia Mowry brought along her new short ‘do and looked fab while doing so, not to mention the outfit was appropriate for the event. Not too casual but not too dressy. HIT

Now ya’ll know Hayden Panettiere is my favorite white girl! Love the long dress, not to mention pink never fails! I’m not falling for the fit nor do I think it’s ‘Teen Choice Awards appropriate’. Regardless of all that, it’s a HIT.

Scarlett Johansson looked uber fabulous in her Beaded Chiffon Matthew Williamson dress, HIT all the way to home! I LOVE this woman!

Trend?

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jul 21, 2008 in Candids, Celebs, Red Carpet Style, Trends

It seems as though Hollywood has been going crazy over what could possibly be a trend. I don’t know if I can call it that though, because the style itself is not something I would try or recommend. I’m talking about tucking your jeans into your sandals/heels:

Tucking your jeans in your boots is fine, but if you are wearing strappy sandals or gladiator heels I definitely say no. Kimtries out every trend so when I saw this on her I thought “ok, this must be ‘it’”. But I don’t recommend you do it.

Will you ladies be trying this trend(?) out?

Trend Alert: Florals

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jun 14, 2008 in Celebs, Cheap & Chic, High-End, Red Carpet Style, Summer Time, Trend Alert

The best part about spring/summer is the warm weather, sunshine and flowers every where, that’s unless you have allergies, then you would disagree. So why not wear florals to honor the season? I bring to you another trend straight out the pages of The Fashion Capital’s fashion diaries: Florals.

Stella McCartney’s Spring 08 collection is full of floral prints.

Even Gucci got in on the action with their Spring/Summer collection, bringing the ususally laid back florals into high end fashion.

Your favorite celebs are killing this trend as well. To find out where to get your floral prints from read below the cut…
