The 1st Annual WEEN Awards

Posted by Tara Decoda on Sep 26, 2009 in Award Shows, Celebs, Red Carpet Style, That's A Good Look

WEEN (Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network) is an organization that empowers young girls through entertainment. They have dedicated their mission to uplifting young girls with their “I Am WEEN” gala, and their “Don’t Judge Me… Empower Me!” tour. I have personally been affected by the development and efforts of WEEN, whether it be internship opportunities or messages from one of their co-founders, or guest speakers. I even found my mentor, Shakara Bridgers of the Get ‘Em Girls, through WEEN. I have been an active member of the organization since it started and am beyond excited and proud to see how far they have come, having their 1st Annual Awards honoring women who have uplifted and inspired their communities. The event was held yesterday at the Recording Industry Association of America in Washington, D.C.:

Award winning actress and honoree, Vivica A. Fox, attended the event with a gorgeous age and event appropriate look. Love the simple hair and subdued make-up, no need to be doing too much. Congrats on the honor!

The beautiful Malinda Williams, who was also an honoree for the night, looked simple but stunning in this black and white off shoulder dress, with bow top detail. Usually people wear the dress as it comes, which has a slight “potato bag” look, but Malinda added silhouette to he dress by cinching the waist. Good look.

Rocsi hit the red carpet, in what I perceive to be one of the best looks of the night (love those shoes!), with her co-star Terrence J. And while Rocsi’s look is usually very predictable and boring to me, she seemed to hit the nail on the head with this one. Can’t say the same for her co-star. The tie was too fat, the Louis Vuitton belt messed up the idea of it being classy, and the shoes just threw me all off! A nice tailored Tom Ford suit would have suit me just fine, or even Costume National.

Alesha Renee, who I adore to pieces, put me to sleep with this look! She should have upped the glam factor, without doing too much. She hit the carpet with Hill Harper, who I am a HUGE fan of and who was also an honoree for the night! Niiice.

Target's Bullseye Bodega Event in NYC

Posted by Tara Decoda on Sep 13, 2008 in Celebs, Red Carpet Style

Celebs came out to Target’s “Bullseye Bodega” event on Wednesday night:

Can I just say those shoes are all the way fab? I love them, I need some shoes like that, especially for this fall.

Love the necklace too.

Paula Patton rocked a fab laid back look, but isn’t someone else at that same event wearing that same jacket?…..

Hmmmm…. I smell a face off.

Rocsi also came out:

Those Pierre Hardy shoes are the business.

Her hair and make-up looks great by the way. She also kicked it with Joy Bryant:

Well… you gotta get your house right, right?

Rihanna Out & About

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jul 31, 2008 in Candids, Celebs, Fashion Dont's, Party & Bullshit

My fave fashion girl, Rihanna, has been out and about New York City these past couple of days nights:

Loving the Herve Leger dress and tank, but… ladies, check this before you leave the house:

TIP: Check to make sure your shirt is not see through, and if it is then put something- anything- under. You know better than this Rihanna… the lights on those pap’s lenses catch EVERYTHING! Now everyone knows about your nipple ring!

SMH. I’m not surprised at the nipple ring but…. Nipple Ring? Seriously?

Loves the look but of course that’s not all:

So Rocsi & Rihanna are good friends now? Hmm, who knew?

Fab laid back look! Loves it, keep it up Rih!
