That’s what’s on the rumor mill. Supposedly, Anna Wintour wants Michelle Obama to close out the 4th quarter and grace Vogue- again:

First gracing the cover of Vogue March 2009, the First Lady proved style and selling power. Known to catapult the careers of many designers, and obviously selling magazines, Vogue has decided to give her another shot at cover girl status. Maybe! This is an unconfirmed rumor, but if it is true, let’s pick out some clothes for the FLOTUS to wear on the cover and in her spread: Read more…

Michelle Obama looked absolutely stunning in a shimmery blue, asymmetrical gown, designed by Peter Soronen, to the state dinner for Mexican President Felipe Calderon and his wife, Margarita Zavala. It has a fully-boned corset, a silver belt and layers of chiffon — with a bit of lame that Soronen said gives it that little bit of sparkle:

Her presidential hubby, Barack Obama, kept it nice and simple, but still very sharp, in a standard black and white Tux. A tux she was spotted fixing at one point, might I add: Read more…

Makeover's,
That's A Good Look,

When America was first introduced to Michelle Obama, which was [of course] when Barack Obama began to campaign for presidency, pre-conceived notions were immediately drawn. Some people thought she came off too mean and unfriendly, others thought she was the Wonder Woman of our day, while others felt she should play her position- the background:

Me, being a fashion writer, of course immediately evaluated the soon-to-be First Lady’s personal style. I immediately wrote her off as a “nothing to see here.” Her style was button-up shirt, knee-length skirt, and a classic set of pearls. Can’t forget the infamous hair flip and the always natural face, almost seeming like she never wore makeup. But I look at the first lady now and she just has me like “whoa! Okay, didn’t know you had it like that!”
Her metamorphosis from corporate lawyer flair to stunning style icon is definitely an evolution to take notice of. In the early 2008 year, she mostly rocked a side bang with a flip and nearly never dabbled in “popping” colors. She most definitely played it safe. Read more…

The final chapter! I have done 2 parts on what I think sexy means to the teens, 20’s and 30’s, and how you should show off your sexy at each decade. Now, we’re on to the 40’s:

No one said you can’t be sexy at 40! Usually, at this decade, some have grown children and feel trapped in this maternal style box, but send the kids off to college and get your sexy on!

“All she do is shop until she drop, like there ain’t no floor…” The First Lady, Michelle-O, definitely has an all over appeal as it pertains to fashion and style. From J. Crew to Jason Wu, her versatility is evident and her ability to transition from the more affordable to the extremely high-end has allowed for her to be a favorite among designers and considered as an icon:

She turned heads at the White Houses first State Dinner since Obama took office in a Naeem Khan gown, but while she usually plays down her accessories, she decided to go for a rose-cut, pear-shaped amber and tourmaline earrings by Bochic. The earrings, which was handmade over three weeks by 40 people in India, were picked out by her stylist several weeks ago as part of a group of jewelry. While the good folks over at Bochic won’t say how much the earrings were, they definitely cost a grip! A pair of Bochic earrings starts at $5,000. But no worries about the spending limit of the usually cost conscious First Lady, because when you’re married to the most powerful guy in the country, who’s really paying for anything?

And no, Michelle Obama is not starring in the return-to-Broadway production of the iconic stage play, but she did look lovely in a [literally] dazzling sleeveless gold gown and shawl designed by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan, who also designed the costumes for the 2006 movie “Dreamgirls”:

Her & presidential husband Barack Obama welcomed Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Mrs. Gursharan Kaur for the first official state dinner on Tuesday night:

Here’s what the fabulous First Lady had to say about the first State Dinner, and the overall importance of having them:
“The states visits and dinners are a really important part of our nation’s diplomacy. Throughout history they’ve given US presidents and the American people the opportunity to make important milestones in foreign relations. So these dinners and events are really critical to what we do internationally. And they’ve helped build stronger ties with nations as well as people around the world. That’s what President Obama and Prime Minister Singh are doing today.”
She also invited 17 high school girls that she mentor to the exclusive dinner, so that they can get a feel of something they see as “untouchable”. Oh, how I hope to be as gracious, warm, inviting, and inspiring as she when I grow up. *admires from afar*

Fab First Lady Michelle Obama is gracing the December issue of Glamour magazine! Looking lovely in red, she gives *expert* dating advice, and style advice. And who else to accept dating advice from, after all she snagged the most eligible bachelor years before he became our President!
On dating, and not going for the cute guy:
“Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, Who are you as a person? Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul … When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good … You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole.”
On her style standards:
“People are always going to have opinions, and people have a right to their opinions, particularly when you’re the First Lady; you’re representing the nation. So I can’t be surprised that people are interested. But I’ve tried to be at peace with the choices that I make first, and then be open to everyone else’s reflection.”
Not only is she beautiful on the outside, she is beautiful on the inside, and her passion to work with her husband to make this world a better place- literally- is something to admire and look up to. Never has a first lady (arguably since Jacqueline Kennedy) been so active in the bringing together and restoration of peace in nations outside of their own. Her passion for children, mentoring and empowering young girls and women forces us all to take a look within ourselves and make a difference. So with her being beautiful, super fly, and inspiring it leaves you wondering- who’s the lucky one? Her or Barack Obama?
Looking lovely First Lady!

First Lady Michelle Obama is gracing the March cover of Vogue, she is only the second first lady to do so:

This cover was shot by Annie Leibovitz just days before the inauguration at the Hay-Adams Hotel, and she is wearing a magenta silk sheath dress by Jason Wu. The same designer who made her Inaugural gown. Good look for Mrs. Obama.

Michelle Obama has left the black fashion community in an uproar:

Apparently, the First Lady has left a bad taste in a few peoples mouths when she attended the swearing in ceremony and Inaugural Ball for her husband President Barack Obama NOT wearing something made by a black designer:
The Black Artists Association is upset with our new First Lady for not wearing clothes by African-American designers. BAA Co-founder Amnau Eele, who was a runway model for Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, and Bill Blass, told WWD, “It’s fine and good if you want to be all ‘Kumbaya’ and ‘We Are the World’ by representing all different countries. But if you are going to have Isabel Toledo do the inauguration dress, and Jason Wu do the evening gown, why not have Kevan Hall, B Michael, Stephen Burrows or any of the other black designers do something too?”
Michelle wore a dress and coat combo to the swearing in ceremony designed by Isabel Toledo, a Cuban-American and her Inaugural gown was designed by Taiwanese born Jason Wu.

As we expected, all eyes were on First Lady Michelle Obama and what she would wear. Here are her day and night looks:

For the official swearing in ceremony of her husband President Barack Obama, Michelle wore a yellow gold and green ensemble by Cuban designer Isabel Toledo and gloves from J. Crew. The First daughters Malia and Sasha both wore coats from J. Crew.
Quick Fact: the bible they used in the swearing in ceremony is the same bibleAbraham Lincoln used at his Inauguration. This is the first time that bible has been used since then.
And the Inauguration dress battle has come to an end, with Michelle O wearing…. Read more…
