When CoverGirl launched their Queen collection several years ago, with Queen Latifah spearheading the line as the spokeswoman. The Queen collection was CoverGirls first foray into cosmetics geared toward the African-American consumer, and they are still developing more products for the Black woman:

The company recently announced that they will be launching a full selection of deep, yellow-based concealer shades that is blended especially for darker complexions. About choosing the right shade for your complexion, CoverGirl Queen make-up artist Sam Fine told StyleList.com:
“Trial and error is the only way to find the right shade of concealer for your skin tone. Opt for a shade that is one or two shades lighter than your complexion to cover blemishes and dark spots. Test these products in the area that you’re using it in — if the concealer is going to be used underneath your eyes, then don’t test it on your jawline!” Fine tells StyleList.
Another tip? Apply your foundation first, and don’t forget your under eye area. Then when you apply your concealer on top, you’ll have to use less and will save more product.
The concealers will retail for a little less than $8, and will be available in drugstores everywhere next month. You can check out more CoverGirl Queen Collection products here.

Beauty Review
I am a Maybelline girl at heart! When I first started really experimenting with and wearing make-up at 16, they were the first brand I tried. Foundation, lipgloss, mascara, everything. But recently, I have decided to experiment with different brands and although I live and die by Maybelline’s Define-A-Lash, I put it on the shelf for a while to give Covergirl’s Lash Blast a whirl:

The commercials with Drew Barrymore really convinced me to try it, and with its claims that your lashes get 80% thicker, I just had to see if it was true! My experience with Covergirl Lash Blast is as follows:
It makes your lashes very full and thick, so if you’re looking for volume, this is the one for you! When I wash my make-up off at night, it comes off clean and even if I put on 3 coats, it still doesn’t clump. My least favorite thing? It flakes! So if you have allergies or itchy eyes, this is not the mascara for you. Overall, I give it a 4 out of 5 star rating. I definitely recommend it. You can get the 2-pack at Target for $10.99, or at your local drugstore for $7.49!

Beauty & Make-Up,
Campaigns
I’ve always adored drug store brands! I am a Maybelline girl, and when I first started wearing make-up in the 11th grade, I was always wearing their foundation. I went from their Pure Makeup, to their Mineral Powder, to their SuperStay Silky (my favorite), then finally moved to their Dream Satin Liquid (my least favorite). But eventually I moved on to department store brands, more notably MAC, because I didn’t know much about my skin (skin tone, under tone, etc.) and they could take one look and match me. The associates in Duane Reade couldn’t do that. CoverGirl is out to change all of that though:

Easy, breezy beautiful CoverGirl has launched a new campaign called “Stand Up For Beauty” which encourages beauty addicts to trade in their department store makeup for some CoverGirl. They also launched a site to help you navigate your switch, if you decide to do so. The site lists all major department store brands including Lancome, MAC, Chanel, Clinique, NARS, Stila, YSL, Bare Escentuals, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Sephora Brand, Lorac, and more. You click on whatever cosmetics brand you are loyal to at the moment, then they guide you to finding whatever product you used, by color, collection and all other details, and match you to a CoverGirl shade and product.
I love the idea, there is just one problem: Read more…

Beauty Review,
Make-Up & Beauty
MAC Cosmetics just released a new product recently called “Lip Markers”:

I love the name as well as the creativity, but didn’t Covergirl do this already? The answer is YES!

“Lip Stain” delivers precision application and a light weight flush of color that last. While MAC’s “Lip Marker” retails at $14, “Lipstain” from Covergirl will average you half the price at $8 ( drugstores).
Now in my personal option, I don’t like either. While MAC color is bright and beautiful, it dries out your lips. Cover girl’s color is a little off, and for it to be a stain it stays on your lips 15 min. MAX! Whew!
