It looks like celebrities in Hollywood and abroad haven fallen in love with a new hue. Experimenting with all kinds of colors, lengths, and weave types, it sames like for once several stars are on the same page at once:

Although Mya is the last known celeb that tried out the shade, but her celeb friends (or not) has been on this ban wagon for the last several weeks from their usual dark loc’s:

Cassie and Keri Hilson has both went blonde, and even Beyonce has dyed her hair higher a lighter shade of blonde. Is this a pattern that you think we will be seeing more of? And who will be the next to go blonde? Kelly Rowland? Read more…

Looks like Lala Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony’s wedding goer’s had one consistent thing in common, one shoulder dresses. From their pre-wedding boat ride celebration, to the actual wedding, stars pulled out their one-shouldered best:

Ciara in a pink printed Versace one-shouldered dress.

My favorite radio host, Angie Martinez, in a classic black one-shouldered dress.

Trina killing it in a black one-shouldered dress with extravagant asymmetrical ruffle detailing.

As for the boat ride, Trina, Kim Kardashian, and Lala opted for one-shoulder dresses. Inspired by the looks, I have found super cute one-shouldered dresses for whatever Summer celebration you may have planned.
*By the way: there were a lot more one shouldered looks, but I couldn’t get good pictures. Womp.*

This trend is a very popular trend, and the best thing about it is anyone can do it. Its not limited to size, hair color, ethnicity, its very universal. BUT, as usual, there are ways to do things, and this is not it:

Ana Looking, a Spanish designer, just can’t seem to get the trend right. The color is on point and perfect for Spring, but the size overpowers her frame and nearly takes over her chest. That is not what you want. Here are examples of how to rock a statement necklace the right way:

If you want a a large statement necklace, like what Jennifer Lopez is wearing, make sure it doesn’t overpower your frame. This goes back to knowing and understanding your body type; do you have narrow shoulders? Broad shoulders? Is your collar bone visible? Do you have small breasts? Once you understand your body type, you can better understand a reasonable size statement necklace according to your upper body type.
If you want a long, layered statement necklace, like what Mary J. Blige is wearing, make sure that your bust isn’t too large or too pressed against each other. There are two types of long statement necklaces: there’s a short-long and a long-long, makes sense? Mary J. has on a short-long necklace, this style usually works best with someone who isn’t too top heavy. If you you are top heavy or have larger hooters, the long-long statement necklaces are best, because that way it flows over your breasts and are not sitting on top all bunched up. An example of a long-long statement necklace is this: Read more…

I am truly in love with one of this seasons biggest trends: the romper. I copped my Married To The Mob romper early in the game and have rocked it a couple times since the weather allowed. But its not just me! Everyone from Kim & Kourtney Kardashian, to Keri Hilson, to Sienna Miller, to Gabrielle Union, to Beyonce have all been spotted in this super cute and casual must-have summer item:

The beauty of the romper (and most of the things I post here on FM) is you can dress it up or down, and its versatile and can fit most body types. No matter your budget or style, I found your perfect romper.

I noticed how obsessed I have become with cork screw heels and wedges. I first got a glimpse of the cork screw style when my old boss from a previous internship rocked a pair of Christian Louboutin slingback peep-toe pumps with cork screw through out, and I will never forget the hot pink lining around the platform. It was sick, but that was 2 years ago. This Summer season, I noticed that cork screw has been making a serious come back:

The corkscrew heel can substitute a nude pump, or a classic black pump because of its simplicity, while still adding a bit of jazz to your look. I found a few pairs of corkscrew shoes that will add pizazz to your Summer wardrobe.

The military trend is definitely the most popular trend this season, and I recently did a post on the cargo pants trend to prove just that. But of course, with all trends, there is always a certain star to pioneer it. Spearheading the combat boot sector of the military trend is Rihanna, rocking hers every chance she gets:

From the stage to the streets, whenever she gives the 6-inch stiletto a break, she always seem to turn to the combat boot. Now, don’t get me wrong, she didn’t invent or bring this style to the forefront! But her rocking it as frequently as she does definitely makes it a trend to take notice of. Whether you have hundreds to burn or just a couple dollars to spare, if you want in on this trend, FM got you! Read more…

Just hints of sheer, please don’t get too excited and go over board this season:

Judging from Milan Fashion Week’s runway shows, sheer will definitely be major for Spring as well! Eve nailed this trend right on with this look, while promoting “Whip It” in LA recently, a new movie she is in. From red carpet, to regular activities, sheer is definitely something to fall into this season! Read more…

For every red carpet for every event, there is always a trend. Whether it’s bib necklaces, chandelier earrings, one shoulder dresses, or square toe pumps, there is always one trend that all the stylists meet up and agree on. For the Hip-Hop Honors, honoring the 25 years of Def Jam, this trend was gloves:

Foxy looked a hot boogie brown mess on these folk’s red carpet. I never really expect her to look awesome and dashing, because she always messes it up, but I always HOPE that she would get it together- just once. But nonetheless, her shoes were hot, and she paired (randomly) some red gloves with her ‘fit.

Let’s talk about who. I. am, blondie find me in the hood wit’ my peeples… Whaaaaat? Now, ya’ know I love me some Eve. My favorite female rapper- period! The self proclaimed pitbull in a skirt cleaned up nice from her ice blonde bald, tomboy days. From the chic bobs, to the sophisticated but still sexy dresses and make-up, good look for my girl. For the HHH, she had a cute all black look and black one fingered gloves. Out of all the glove looks, Eve’s were my favorite!

I don’t like this look. Chrisette Michele looked like a 50-year old housewife trying to get her groove back, after her youngest went off to college. The big, baggy dress, the slouchy suede boots, and the suede and leather gloves… baby, you are doing too much! Usually I love what June Ambrose does with her clients, so I’m guessing she didn’t style her this go ’round. Womp womp.
Ja Rule also rocked gloves during his performance with his former label mate, Ashanti:

Yes, there is something in the water. I picked out a few gloves for you to choose from under the cut…

This trend seems to be getting popular by the day, and it needs to stop before it gets out of hand:

Rihanna first sported the trend with smiley faces on her nails in December at an event in London, England. Then Heidi Montag decided to hop on the band wagon with the Chanel logo on her nails recently while shopping it up at none other then Chanel.
3 reasons why it’s wrong:
1. It’s tacky, and depending on the logo (i.e. designers such as Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, etc.)– ghetto!
2. It’s immature, although some may prefer the phrase youthful
3. It’s whack! Period.
Because I’m all about solutions, here is a better alternative for the funky fashionista that likes to play with nails: Read more…

Ombre has to be one of the most fun trends of Spring 2009. The way the colors fall into each other playfully and dance around on your clothes, it’s sure to be a wardrobe must have for Spring:

Ombre is the modern day answer to the 70’s splash (and another Spring ‘09 trend) tie-dye. There are some who hate the idea of tie-dye and wouldn’t wear it to save their life! But ombre…. Read more…
