After rumors emerged about Karl Lagerfeld retiring, and that Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz would replace him, the house of Chanel released a statement via Vogue UK saying he isn’t going anywhere!

“Karl Lagerfeld is the creative designer of Chanel and has a long-term contract with the company. Replacing him is not an issue,” a Chanel rep said.
Why can’t all issued statements be this simple? Always so drawn out, accompanied by lengthy paragraphs and big words, all just to say one thing. Speaking of Karl Lagerfeld, I found this interview with him over at the Cut and thought it would make for a good early morning read. Very funny, and there’s a few iconic quotable’s there too: Read more…

After his daughter came home and said “Daddy, how come I don’t have good hair?”, Chris Rock embarked on a mission to figure out what is the true definition of “good” hair, and why black women are so obsessed with having it:
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m-4qxz08So]
He interviewed celebrities such as Nia Long, Raven Symone, Lauren London, Meagan Good, and even found out from Salt n Pepa that Pepa’s infamous asymmetrical cut came about from Pepa burning off that side of her head with chemicals.

He also traveled to hair salons, to interview women on the importance of having good hair, and barber shops to see how black men feel about weaves. He also traveled to India, whose weave/hair is the biggest provider in hair for the US.
Although told in a classic comedic format, the documentary is indeed insightful and a topic that have been the discussion of many daytime talk shows and focus groups. But really, what exactly is good hair? Is it long, straight, blonde hair cascading down your back? Or is it healthy, bouncy, moisturized, and thick?
