Shoes Every season, Nicolas Ghesquière finds a way to defy fashion gravity with Balenciaga. Of course the dresses are bold, for sure the jackets have hard-to-take-in architectural awesomeness, and never mind that the accessories astronomically magnificent! All of that, yes all of that is fabulous, but the money shot is always the shoes:
For the Fall 2010 season, he absolutely blew every other collection out of the water. Lock-heeled loafers and brogues with the soles encased in chunks of plastic, the shoes looked like an impressive, mind-blowing final result of a young fashion enthusiast who stumbled upon her older brothers Lego blocks by accident, and got to building. Obviously composed of some of the finest materials on this planet, this collection was everything but boring and mundane! Seriously? That's Strange Back when I was pursuing a career as a celebrity stylist, I found out one of fashion’s dirty little secrets: brands like Gucci and Louis Vuitton (especially them) did not want certain celebs wearing their items! As a matter of fact, they would even demand and strong arms celebs to not wear their pieces! This case was made loud and clear back when T.I. had a hard time releasing his “Swing Ya’ Rag” video featuring Swizz Beatz, as Louis Vuitton and Gucci were adamant about NOT having their scarves swangin’ in “some rap video.” And that video never did get released. It looks like Snooki has come under the same wrath with Gucci:
Jersey Shore’s resident dwarf has been spotted on several occasions rocking her basic Gucci bag, with the Gucci monogram all over it. While most brands would try their hardest to keep the closet of a star of the biggest reality show out stacked, Gucci ain’t having it! They would rather Snooki NOT rock anything Gucci and they will do anything to make sure she doesn’t! Creative director of Barney’s, Simon Doonan, claims that no brand wants to co-brand with Snooki, so they send her their competitors bags to stop her from wearing theirs. Her Coach bag was pretty much sewn onto her arm last season, but apparently Coach wanted no parts of that, and sent her a Gucci. Read more…

She has offered up four solid collections, season after season since Spring 2009, she has delivered us timeless piece after timeless piece. Who ROCKED It? Uh oh! Next to Nicholas Kirkwood, Lanvin has been making the most appearances on the feet of the Hollywood elite this season. As far as who’s been rocking it, too numerous to name, but Hilary Duff and Rihanna seems to have taken a likening to one particular pair:
Back in June, Rih Rih rocked this Lanvin Chain Link Platform Pump while in Madrid, pairing hers with a cute, printed shorts romper, and cat eye sunglasses. Then Hilary Duff wore it on Thursday while buying everything but stock in the Gucci store in Beverly Hills. She opted for a more subdued all black look, a basic halter top, fitted pencil skirt and a Hermès Birkin bag. What do you guys think?

Special Events In 2008, one of my first (amateur) posts on this blog was called “What To Wear To A Wedding” and my readers then reacted to it very well. And now with all of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor’s and bachelorette’s dropping like flies, its definitely wedding season:
From Lala Vazquez & Carmelo Anthony, to Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green, to Carrie Underwood & Mike Fisher, to Penelope Cruz & Javier Bardem, and with Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz set to wed any day now, celebs are getting hitched and getting hitched fast! But its not only celebrity land that all the wedding bells are ringing in. I’m sure plenty of you have just as much weddings as business meetings to attend (maybe I’m over exaggerating, but you get it) so I have found you some really fab dresses to wear to a Summer wedding!
