Steal Of The Day: Giuseppe Chain Detailed Sandals

Posted by Tara Decoda on May 23, 2010 in Get That Look!, Get Their Look... For Less, Shoes

Its a well known fact that most shoe designs are a rip off original luxury designer concepts. Let’s just say about 75% of shoes on the market are rip-offs, but some are more blatant than others:

But let me just make this clear: there is nothing wrong with having an “alternative,” which some may refer to as knock-offs. If you don’t have $1,000 for a pair of shoes, and you see the same design elsewhere for $80, why not? Giuseppe Zanotti (right) has this chain detailed strappy sandals retailing for $1,050, while Zigi Soho (left) has the shoes for $89.95. So by going with the Zigi’s, you’re actually saving $960.05! A steal indeed…

Nicki Minaj's Theory

Posted by Tara Decoda on Nov 24, 2009 in Award Shows, Celebs, Designers, Get That Look!, Red Carpet Style, Steal Their Look

Some time last week, Nicki Minaj hit the GQ Men Of The Year awards with her labelmate Drake, and both artists cleaned up nice. It was great seeing Drake in a suit (have we ever seen him in one before?), and it was especially great seeing the self-proclaimed black Hannah Montana in a dress:

The bandeau dress had a velvet bodice with sweetheart neckline, and sateen skirt. Loving the abstract fabric, and it hugged her body perfectly.

You can cop Nicki’s Theory Chanesa Dress for $325 on ShopBop. Or you can get the cheaper alternative Read more…

Get That Look!

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jul 1, 2008 in Get That Look!, High-End, Red Carpet Style, Shopping, Summer Time

For the fourth installment of Get That Look!, I am hooking you up for a formal event. There are four things we need help getting dressed for- lunch dates, interviews, red carpet events and dinners. So just in case your going to a formal event but not too formal (perhaps a red carpet for the launch of an organization or clothing line?) I got you with you the perfect summer look:

Emilio Pucci Nelion Print Dress$2, 340, Net-A-Porter

Givenchy 583989 $699, Zappos

MICHAEL Michael Kors Large Patent Leather Clutch $268, eLuxury

I noticed that with my previous three Get That Look! post’s, it was mostly black/white clothes. I didn’t do it on purpose but I’m just attracted to black clothing, sexy black clothing that is. Summer is here and I felt I was depriving you guys of color. So have fun with this look, take pictures and send it in. I’ll post it!

Get That Look!

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jun 30, 2008 in Designers, Get That Look!, High-End, Shopping

For the third installment of Get That Look, I am hooking you up for a night out on the town with the girls. A sexy-but-classy look:

Houndstooth Sequin Mini Dress $685, Saks Fifth Ave

Christian Louboutin Ron Ron Pumps $575, Saks Fifth Ave

Christian Louboutin Newspaper Patent Clutch $525, Saks Fifth Ave

You definitely want to keep your hair down for this one, no buns- the look is classy not elegant. As for the make-up, try smokey but don’t get crazy with the black eyeshadow!

Have fun ladies :)

Get That Look!

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jun 19, 2008 in Get That Look!, High-End, Shopping, That's A Good Look

For my second “Get That Look” post (post’s about random outfits I pick out and put together- for you), I took it back to the classic red-black-and-white look with a more modern day twist:

Michael Kors Lattice A-Line Dress $1, 595, Net-A-Porter

Kettle Black Studded Clutch $194, Shop Bop

Jimmy Choo Eliza Patent Sandal $585, Net-A-Porter

Total cost= $2, 374

I say, stay in the black and white theme for the dress and accessories but go bold for the shoe. It will add a little drama to a more mod look, but not too much drama.
