Kristin Cavallari Designing A Shoe For A Good Cause

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jul 27, 2010 in Celebs, Fashion For A Cause

Looks like Kristin Cavallari has decided to hop on the celebrity designer ban wagon with her new shoe design venture, but no worries, this is just a one time thing! Or is it?

Kristin told People.com:

“I’m designing a shoe for Shoe Dazzle right now, which is like a one time, one deal show which a portion of the proceeds [will] go to my charity ‘OneKid OneWorld’. I’m excited about that because I want to have my own shoe line so it’ll be like a good first shoe to get my feet wet with.”

Shoe Dazzle is Kim Kardashian’s company by the way. Very interesting endeavor for the star that isn’t really known for her great fashion sense, but who needs any substantial experience or sense to launch a fashion line these days?

Get A Free Lacoste Polo

Posted by Tara Decoda on Jun 2, 2010 in Cheap & Chic, Designer, Fashion For A Cause

Polo is the most iconic style of shirt in America, its just as much of an American icon is Frank Sinatra. Okay, maybe I’m pushing it. Yeah, I’m definitely pushing it, but you get it. Summer is upon us, and since Lacoste knows how imperative it is to have a Polo as apart of your Summer wardrobe, they have teamed up with USA Network and Vanity Fair to benefit “Doctors Without Borders”:

To get your free Lacoste polo, all you have to do is bring in one of your used Summer shirts in exchange for a Lacoste gift card redeemable for a new shirt at any Lacoste boutique. The “Royal Pains Summer Shirt Exchange” will coincide with USA’s June 3rd premiere of their new show Royal Pains. For each shirt collected (it can be from any label — but no holes or stains), USA will donate $10 to Doctors Without Borders, an international medical humanitarian organization that provides emergency medical care in nearly 70 countries.

Here’s what Steve Birkhold, president and CEO of Lacoste USA, had to say about the partnerhsip: Read more…

The event, which is co-chaired by fab designer Derek Lam, is a four-day charitable fashion event, silent auction, and sample sale, that raises funds for Housing Works’ lifesaving services for homeless and low-income New Yorker’s living with HIV/AIDS:

These Balmain boots were on sale for $975!!

Lookbook: 16th Annual Elle Women In Hollywood Tribute

Posted by Tara Decoda on Oct 20, 2009 in Award Shows, Celebs, Fashion For A Cause, Movies & Hollywood, Red Carpet Style

It’s here again, when the fabulous worlds of fashion and female empowerment collide to honor all the women in Hollywood- from newcomers to legends- who have made a mark and paved the way. It all went down last night in Beverly Hills at the Four Seasons Hotel, and I can say everyone “shut it down” (as Rachel Zoe would say):

katie cassidy ELLE

Katie Cassidy wore a sparkling halter Lela Rose dress, Jimmy Choo sandals, and a Celestina clutch. The fit was great on her, love the pulled back hair, and I die for a smoky eye!

katie holmes ELLE

Modest mama and honoree Katie Holmes kept it simple and plain in Azzedine Alaia, but on trend with a sheer see-through top. I would have loved to see Katie up the glam factor, but what can we say? It’s Katie, Mrs. Cruise if ya’ nasty!

jenna elfman ELLE

A pregnant Jenna Elfman showed off her baby bump in a Richard Sorger mini dress with fringe sleeves, Miu Miu sandals, Leyla clutch, and really dope Erickson Beamon necklace and ring. Love this look!

zoe saldana ELLE

Honoree Zoe Saldana, who was awarded the Calvin Klein Collection Spotlight Award, wore none other than Calvin Klein Collection fresh off the runway, and Christian Louboutin pumps. Love this look on Zoe, I also love how she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves as an actress after so many years in the game.

amber rose ELLE

Ford model Amber Rose came out rocking a strapless red mini with ruffle side detail, and YSL pumps. It’s an unusually understated look for the Rose garden but the lashes are hot (although you can’t see it here). But, umm, is that a name chain she’s wearing? Toto, you’re not in Philly anymore.

Milan Fashion Week: amfAR Inaugural Event

Posted by Tara Decoda on Sep 29, 2009 in Celebs, Designers, Fashion For A Cause, Models, Party & Bullshit, Red Carpet Style

amfAR, the foundation for AIDS research, held their first ever charity event in Milan at La Premanente, co-hosted by Janet Jackson. The fashion elite took a break from the shows to support the effort to end the global AIDS epidemic:

janet donatella

Janet Jackson hit the carpet with Donatella Versace, both of course wearing Versace designs. Janet looked amazing in this blue wrap gown, and Donatella rocked a look straight off her S/S 2010 runway.

dita amfar

Burlesque queen, Dita Von Teese, rocked a pink and black satin rouched dress by Dolce & Gabbana. Typical retro look for Dita. She looks fab.

chanel iman amfar

Model Chanel Iman rocked a beautiful black satin and sheer gown by Versace. Absolutely love this look for Chanel, and the hints of sheer seems to be really big for the upcoming season. One of the best dressed for the night.

linda evangalista amfar

Iconic Canadian model Linda Evangalista seemed to be unsettled about which fabric of choice to wear. Satin, velvet, fur, oh my! Dare I say it, she pulled this look off! Loving the vintage 40’s finger waves, and the bold red lipstick.

amber kanye

Kanye West & Amber Rose came matching in all black everything. I would have loved to see the two up the ante, because I know they definitely know how to bring it! And it looks like someone has a new piercing:

amber amfar

I am loving this “made for Barbie” shade of lipstick too! She rocks pink lips well, seems to be her fave shade.
