HIT or MISS
Rihanna hit the after party for her Los Angeles concert stop at Drai’s Hollywood in one of her most interesting looks to date:

Rocking a polka dotted Dolce & Gabbana jumpsuit from the labels Pre-Fall 2010 collection, she definitely looked more colorful than usual. She completed the look with black Christian Louboutin “Big Lips 120″ leather pumps, rose gold link collar chain, blue eye shadow, and of course her red hair. To be honest, I like the look, especially on her and I think that hair set it off. But what do you think?

Katy Perry is bringing her California Gurl style to the fragrance sector of the beauty industry:

Her fragrance will be called “Purr by Katy Perry” and we’re guessing its in honor of her favorite girl- her cat Kitty Purry. But don’t expect some half-ass celeb scent, because Katy is pulling out all the stops, even seeking (and gaining) approval from her cat:
“You can put all the bells and whistles on things, and it can still smell like s–t,” Perry told the group of about 25 beauty editors and Nordstrom executives. “I was very particular about this.…I couldn’t put out something that I didn’t 100 percent believe in. Even my cat, Kitty Purry, likes it.”
As far as the usual gift with purchase, in an effort to entice consumers? Not happening. Read more…

Who ROCKED It?
Well, what do we have here? One of my biggest style inspirations, Jennifer Lopez, and one of the flyest chick’s in the game, Rihanna, has been caught rocking the same thing:

Jennifer Lopez first rocked this Lanvin Spring 2010 dress while attending the London premiere of her film “The Back-Up Plan” back in April. She accessorized the look with a wide belt and a bold statement necklace. She finished the look with black satin platform pumps and a super chic bun. Rihanna, who rocked while going to dinner at AGO restaurant in LA recently, totally stripped the look and rocked the dress by itself, completing it with nude, patent leather pumps. My money is all in on my girl J. Lo! But what do you think?

Magazine Covers & Spreads
Looks like Lindsay Lohan is still marketable! (Who knew?) Fresh off of gracing the cover of German GQ, she is hitting the news stands state side with her new Complex cover:

The “troubled” star (the media said it, not me) has possibly made history for gracing the most covers in one single month while promoting nothing, and also being the first cover model to not have an accompanying article. On top of her being 5 hours late to her shoot, she also never answered the mags calls to complete an interview. 0_o Well, then…

Just last week, we reported that The Gaga (according to rumors) would be releasing a perfume with Coty, but it looks like that won’t be happening anytime soon:

A Senior Executive at Coty had this to say about the rumor:
“It’s a totally false rumor,” said Steve Mormoris, a senior exec at Coty’s Beauty division, speaking to Women’s Wear Daily. “I know nothing of this project.”
Sorry, guys. Looks like that won’t be happening. Well, at least not for now…

Janet Jackson has signed on to be the new face of fur company BlackGlama’s iconic “What Becomes A Legend Most?” campaign:

The 44-year-old icon in her own right joins the ranks of Audrey Hepburn, Diana Ross, Lena Horne, Elizabeth Taylor, Liza Minnelli, Judy Garland and many more as the face of this campaign. For the ad, the star wore a black mink pulled up to her face, highlighting her cheekbones and new short ‘do. But of course, PETA had a lot to say about Janet signing on as the face BlackGama’s campaign, writing an open letter to her implying she’s a hypocrite and taking shots at her career:
“You told me that you were always aggravated at photo shoots when stylists would try to throw fur on you and that you were even wary of wearing fake fur out of concern that it might actually be real or look real in photos and send the wrong message,” PETA Senior Vice President Dan Matthews said. ”You were very straightforward and sensible about it. What happened?”
The letter then went on to call Janet “desperate” and saying her career is on a “down slide.” Typical of PETA to hit below the belt. Their strongly opinionated and vindictive open letters never cease to amaze me. But Janet chose not to answer PETA, but instead answer the question asked in her campaign: Read more…

Just four seasons in and I think its safe to say Victoria Beckham is one of my favorite designers, joining the likes of Valentino, Gianfranco Ferre and Versace. She has offered up four solid collections, season after season since Spring 2009, she has delivered us timeless piece after timeless piece. Everything about her collections scream chic, sophisticated, classy, and strictly for a lady. Oh, did I say her collections scream? I meant gently declare, ladies don’t scream:

Structured and fitted to perfection, her attention detail and execution seemingly surpasses most veterans in the game. Unlike most pop stars who decide to venture into fashion, Victoria is truly a connoisseur of fashion and has served us some great moments through out her lifetime. She also emphasizes that she is apart of every step of making, constructing, and executing each piece, and is a perfectionist to the T. And while most pop stars are the only ones wearing their clothes, Victoria Beckham has garnered A-list fans such as Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kelly Ripa, Blake Lively and Jennifer Hudson. She has even gained rave reviews from the most respected names in fashion, including her good friend Marc Jacobs. Read more…

Who ROCKED It?
Uh oh! Next to Nicholas Kirkwood, Lanvin has been making the most appearances on the feet of the Hollywood elite this season. As far as who’s been rocking it, too numerous to name, but Hilary Duff and Rihanna seems to have taken a likening to one particular pair:

Back in June, Rih Rih rocked this Lanvin Chain Link Platform Pump while in Madrid, pairing hers with a cute, printed shorts romper, and cat eye sunglasses. Then Hilary Duff wore it on Thursday while buying everything but stock in the Gucci store in Beverly Hills. She opted for a more subdued all black look, a basic halter top, fitted pencil skirt and a Hermès Birkin bag. What do you guys think?

Nicole Richie put up exclusive pictures on her website of her Summer 2010 collection of her vintage inspired jewelry line, House of Harlow 1960:

Of the collection, she had this to say:
I designed this collection to really contrast the light, airy pieces in the latest Winter Kate collection with bright summer colors and pieces that can be stacked and layered to bring personality and edge to the whole look. Hope you like the pieces as much as I do…
Nicole Richie has joined the ranks of Gwen Stefani, celebrities who have built successful, respectable fashion labels. Its very rare for a celebrity to build a respectable fashion line, for obvious reasons, but Nicole has.i have recently developed an obsession with vintage duds, especially of the 60’s era, so this collection is right up my alley. The collection is currently in stores! Read more…
