Christian Dior: Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture F/W 2011

Leave it to John Galliano to send designs down the runway that would even make Lady Gaga blush!

Going against the standard Fall neutral color palette, John Galliano seemingly defied design gravity sending organza skirts bursting with color down the runway, and metaphorically referring to his designs as a gift to such an evolving industry by topping off almost every girl with a plastic wrap on their head. Purples, oranges, bright greens, reds, and exaggerated details such as harem styled bottoms, and seemingly 3D florals, this collection brought me back to the days of elementary art where you would glue colored tissue paper inside a heart, giving it a 3D effect, but could never stay within the lines. But don’t you remember how you still never risked the shape? Or in this case, the silhouette? Exactly.
