Metallic finishes, feathers, oh my! Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2009 collection brought all the tribal fabulousness together on one runway. Mixing and matching blazers with feather skirts, assorted colored bright metallic, obi feather belts, animal prints and sheer like you wouldn’t believe. This collection reminded me how dramatic runway can be. Just imagine the Lion King living in Paris (or as Marc Jacobs put it, “Little Parisienne princess, no?”):

For my first edition of Spring Fling (preparing you for Spring by taking one high-end collection and finding cheaper alternatives), I have found you pieces inspired by Louis Vuitton without the Louis Vuitton price tag. Read more…
Bey Sting rides for her Roc:

While shopping it up at Patricia Field in New York City, Beyonce roc’ed a RocaWear chain belt. While I’m not a big fan of urban brand’s (besides Sean John- he got it), I do like the style of this belly chain. Looks good on the Queen Bey.
Kim Kardashian and her sexy beau Reggie Bush get intimate for GQ magazine:

Hate if you want, but this couple is just too cute! Love the intimacy (and not in a sexual sense) of the photo’s. It’s like the camera’s were let into their home and just captured a day in the life of. Check out video of the shoot here

Loves it.
The ‘America’s Next Top Model’ auditions went down in New York City yesterday and it was mayhem!

There were about 4,000 girls who came out to audition and before we even got inside, there were already fights! The line wrapped around the whole entire block. Any one who knows what a New York square block is like, knows what I mean. Part of this craziness, or all of this craziness, is due to the fact that for the FIRST TIME IN TOP MODEL HISTORY, Tyra was casting short girls (5′7″ and under). I am 5′1″ and a half and had dreams of trying out for Top Model when I was in Middle School but then quickly dismissed it due to the industry (and top model) standard of 5′7″ and above. So, of course my behind was on that line!
I stood on line for 10 hours and never even got to go inside!! I woke up at 5am, arrived at 7am and stood on line until 5pm. Had there been more organization on behalf of Top Model, in regards to where we go in (there were several entrances to the hotel), I would have auditioned long before 5pm. I got on the wrong line. I thought I was just feet away from the entrance, when it turned out I had to circle the WHOLE block. Pissed? Sure wasn’t, but everyone else around me was (leading to 3 physical fights breaking out). So I proceeded to be me and entertain the whole line. Smiles, anyone?
But, in true Top Model fashion, I WILL NOT GIVE UP! Next stop, Dallas, TX! See you there!
UPDATE: Here is video of the stampede. I am sooo in that crowd! I remember that.

Rihanna was publicly spotted for the first time since her Grammy-morning altercation last month. She was seen coming out of her black SUV earlier today. Not sure what she’s in town for, most likely to meet with her label to discuss new album details. How ever, those shoes are NOT cute, and I’m not sure how I feel about mixing patent, sheer and ashy “washed way too many times” cotton. Nonetheless, it’s good to see her back! My only questions is…..
HIT or MISS?

Bey Sting is covering her umpteenth cover! She is Vogue’s April cover girl. This cover comes just in time for her Obsessed movie which is set to hit theaters next month! I see she is going with the pulled back, hair out of face, less dramatic earrings, look as of late. Not sure how I feel about it, a subdued Bey? I dunno….

Guys I know that I haven’t been updating this site that much (and I sincerely apologize for that), because lately I’ve been on the go. But you know what else let’s me update while I’m on the go? TWITTER! Anyone who knows me knows that I HATE social networking sites! I barely check my MySpace and I’ll be damned if I join Facebook. But Twitter? How can you deny it? I’ve been on Twitter for a hot minute, about to be a year now. I will be updating it every 5 seconds guys… so hit me on Twitter for the latest and what’s going on in my world, the world of fashion, and to hear my out of this world “I can’t believe she just said that”, random-ass, spur-of-the-moment thoughts. Here is my Twitter page…. follow me!

Target is back at it! Bringing high end designer duds to the masses. For the fierce fashionista who doesn’t quite have the $500 for a tank top budget that usually comes with the name, world renowned designers are now making it easier to step in their shoes- literally. As opposed to blaming poor sales and a tanking line on a bad economy, designer’s have jumped on the H&M and Target bandwagon to bring their signature styles without the signature price. McQueen has been the latest designer to see the potential in this growing designer-for-discount market, bringing a more affordable version of his McQ line to Target:

The launch collaboration will be with Alexander McQueen, who will create a version of his McQ collection, called McQ Alexander McQueen for Target.
“Both programs are geared toward our trend-minded guests who are always on the hunt for the newest and hottest looks at an affordable price,” said Trish Adams, senior vice president of Target. “Designer Collaborations is another way in which Target brings an emporium of designers to our guests. This specific McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection does have the potential to skew toward a slightly older guest compared to some of our other designer collections.”

Signature McQ. Head to the nearest Target to get in on the action, because I know I am.
15 year old Taylor Momsen, better known as Jenny Humphrey (the independent, extremely talented aspiring designer on the CW’s hit show Gossip Girl), stays true to her character on and off screen- fashionable and care free. Her style, which could be best described as punk rock chic, is reminiscent to those pop-up books you read as a child- you may know the story line, but as you flip page by page, you never really know what to expect. Check out this Emerging Style Star:

This budding fashionista seems to know exactly how to make the two separate world’s of Gossip Girl Upper East Side style and underground East Village style intersect at her walk-in closet, and peacefully co-exist. We’ll be keeping an eye on her.
